Gone for Lunch - Back in 3 Weeks

OMG just finished watching the season 2 finale of the OC and it's pretty INTENSE. Yes I know the argument that Season 2 was pretty crap compared to Season 1 but I still enjoy it. It wasn't as good but I didn't really find anything else that was good either. Maybe except Desperate Housewives and Lost...

Anyway straight after watching this ep I went on a mad googling spree trying to find as many spoilers as I could for Season 3! Haha...as you do. So anyway thinking about all this OC stuff, I was reminded that I'll be "in the hood" so to speak later this year. I'm gonna try and get my hands on some backstage tour maybe and definitely try get some memorabilia for you guys too! So any requests, get to me after November 18th but before November 26th coz I'll prob have exams, then I leave on the 26th. Hehe ooo I'm excited even now imagine when I actually finish my last exam!

Anyway so I have a few things on my plate, saw Revenge of the Sith for a 2nd time on Tuesday night only by chance though! Basically someone bailed on someone and I got the call. Sweet! Meanwhile uni has just wrapped up for me, today being the last day. I guess now it's into hardcore study mode since I haven't really done squat during the semester as always! This therefore means that blogging will be low on the priority list for the next few weeks, but chances are I'll be able to squeeze in maybe one or two before I finish on June 16th - most likely posts about how crazy I'm going from the bloody study! Haha...

Hmm so anyway, doing a bit of California dreaming just in general has reminded me that it's almost summer break for the kids in the Land of the Free, up until about August I heard! While they're having a blast doing what they do, I'll be cooped up in cold, unpredictable Melbourne cramming what I can into my melon so if you're from the States and stumbling by, spare a thought for a disgruntled Asian kid down south. Bongo signing off.

Post-Star Wars Saga

Hearing words like "midi-chlorians," and "Gungan," with phrases like, "That's right R2 we're going back to the Dagobah system," you have just begun to ask yourself "Is Star Wars really that big??"

The answer is, YES! Now, being the fan that I am, I thought not dedicating a proper post to Star Wars would border on negligent. Thus, in order to enlighten some of you and perhaps make you more geek-like in order to fit in with the multitude of fans who have suddenly come out of the closet (You're sitting there like "Yeah! Bob was the last person who I would've thought was a Star Wars fan but after seeing him have a lightsaber duel with Jim using blue and red pens, I'm convinced!") I've decided to expand your current knowledge to include stuff that's beyond the movies! Basically I'm gonna give a rough outline on what happens after Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. Now sit back and enjoy...

The Battle of Endor has restored peace in the universe and we now know all too well our heroes Luke and Leia Skywalker as well as Han Solo and his trusy sidekick, Chewie...

Luke opens up a Jedi Academy and meets a woman named Mara-Jade. Now, Mara-Jade grew up as the Emperor's assassin and was actually sent to kill Luke while he was in Jabba the Hutt's custody (Ep VI - ROTJ). She failed to assassinate him because Jabba refused to let her come to the exectution in the desert and on the way back to report to the Emperor, discovers Darth Vader has killed him. She is lost and without direction and becomes a pilot for smugglers. She meets Luke whilst trying to survive an attack on some planet and they co-operate with each other. To cut a long story short, 10 years later they hook up and have a kid named Ben after Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Leia and Han Solo get married and have three children, Jacen and Jaina who are twins, and the younger Anakin Solo who follows in his grandfather's (Anakin Skywalker) footsteps - extraordinary mechanic and powerful Jedi. All three enrol into Uncle Luke's Jedi academy - Jaina becomes Mara Jade's padawan and Anakin becomes hugely popular, touted to take over Luke's mantle of most powerful Jedi. On a mission to rescue people from the Yuuzhan Vong race (newest and most powerful threat to the Republic), he fails to save Chewbacca who dies. Anakin blames himself as does his father Han Solo. Later Anakin dies in a mission led by his brother Jacen, to eradicate the Yuuzhan Vong's Jedi-hunting creatures, the voxyn.

There you have it folks! There's heaps more but you can find a lot of it on the official Star Wars site here. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the new movie. May the Force be with you!

My Left Knee

Oh gosh it's so late, so lates...

So anyway I finally managed to get to the physio today to get my bloody left knee checked out (refer to March 28th post - poem explaining the story of the left knee) at 10:30am. The physio is fully just down the road for me so I like it very much. Last time I went for my ankle (the right one for those keeping score out there) I saw some physio there, but this time I finally got the one and only Barry.

Barry is a four-time premiership AFL player who played and coached the likes of Kevin Sheedy and Kevin Bartlett and has heaps and heaps of pictures of him with famous sports ppl on his walls. He even has a medal from Queen Elizabeth II! While he was massaging my knee, had a good chat to him about his story. I was inspired by his humble beginnings on a farm in Wodonga to juggling footy and studying physio at uni. He won even more respect when he said "Physio first, footy second..." in relation to his occupation back in his hey-day. He always wanted to do physio so good on him on not getting too carried away with being a superstar footy player. After he retired from playing he coached Richmond for about 10 years and through this he raised his kids and opened up his physio practice. He's a top bloke who's modest about his achievements and even though he has been through a fair bit in his life he sums it up with, "It was good fun." Has a sense of humour also - whilst I was on the physio machine he passed me an Inside Sport's issue with one Holly Brisley on the front cover and said "Here, have a perv."

Anyway, my knee at the moment feels okay. Barry diagnosed it as such: "You probably pinged a few tendons around your knee." Sounds a bit bad, but eventually it'll heal. Going in on Thursday morning again to get another round of the physio-machine. Maybe this time he'll gimme the mag with Heidi Klum as the centrefold. Top bloke that Barry...

Still Alive!

Orright, quick update to let you guys know I still exist!

Feels like I haven't posted in AGES, but been very busy what with uni wrapping up and the ongoing job hunt! The shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Got exams on 6th, 10th and 16th June, finish early relative to other Melb Uni peeps so that's aiiight.

Meanwhile, really really excited about Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith which comes out next Thursday! Omg it's gonna be soooo sick! I hear we get to see Luke and Leia in the movie, wonder how big a part they'll play...

On other random matters, the EPL is pretty depressing, Man Utd losing to Chelsea 3-1 which further compounds my misery this season! More disappointing though, we're definitely going to finish 3rd which means CL qualification games to play...dammit

So anyway, apologies for being a boring post, but watch this space! Got something up my sleeve...hehe ;)
