I've also learnt that people who are scared of change pigeon-hole others into how they've always known them to be. It's probably related to the inherent Peter Pan syndrome our society celebrates so much today.

I've learnt that obedience > sacrifices. You can try to be as "good" as humanly possible, but at the end of the day, obedience means more because it allows the "impossible" to happen.

while the bushfires haven't directly impacted me or anyone i personally know, my heart goes out to the thousands of people who've lost their homes, livelihoods, friends and family. i encourage others to help out the bushfire victims in any way, whether through donations of cash, blood, time and/or prayer.
