Being Tardy
i was inspired to post again by katie. thanks katie.
so here i sit, about 1am on a friday morning. i leave in 3 sleeps. off to another adventure overseas. this time it's japan, hong kong and parts of china.
was initially worried about japan, didn't know what i was going to do in terms of accommodation, how i was going to get around, who i was going with etc. but once again things were ironed out in the end. even though im going by myself, i think it's going to be a good experience for me and my independence. although it's softened by the fact that i'm meeting my aunty who lives there. i'm also going to meet up with steve and stay with him for three days, and then meet up with adam and his uni friends. i also managed to contact julia so i'm catching up with her and having talked to my cousin in singapore yesterday, i managed to get more free board in Kobe.
today was also my last day at work. RED. i'm going to miss the place. even though i believe at times i took it for granted, i will always have fond memories there. a small, little office in the clean, easy going suburb of albert park, expensively fitted out (eames chairs galore) and designed only the way designers/interior decorators/architects can design. the work itself was quite straight-forward and i was given a lot of autonomy. i enjoyed doing little odd tasks every now and then to break up the monotonous MYOB flow, and they included things like going out on pastry runs, researching drinking water/mobile phone plans/cheap interstate flights, setting up an LCD tv, testing it (ie. watching dvds), checking for errors on blueprints of the myer basement and the proposed new camberwell shopping centre.
continuing on the "changes" vein, also received a letter from Pitcher Partners tonight. i start work on March 13 next year, and finally was told what our starting salary will be. it was substantially higher than what they told us 6 months ago with their "no less than".
hmm anyway i think i'm gonna finish off funny face (1957). cant get enough of audrey's naivety when talking to professor flostre. oh and mr. astaire's umbrella dance number under audrey's balcony.
only 3 days to go!
